SeaWorld has been forbidden to breed any of its 11 orcas in captivity in California, following controversy over their living conditions.

Despite pressure from animal rights campaigners, the state did approve plans to double the size of its killer whale habitat on the condition that no breeding will occur.

SeaWorld has battled poor attendance and bad press following the  2013 documentary Blackfish, which condemned its programme.
