Many of us are likely to get a bit jittery on a small plane, and might feel a little calmer if we had a parachute strapped to our backs.
Witnesses watched in amazement as a single engine plane, suspended by a parachute, glided to the ground with the entire aircraft still intact.
Seconds before the plane hit the ground it touched a pick-up truck with a female driver and two children.
That driver and all passengers on the plane walked away with minor injuries, including the pilot.
James Fallows, a national correspondent for the Atlantic, says parachutes could be used in the future for smaller planes where safety could be at risk.
