Around 35 bodies have reportedly been collected after a plane crashed shortly after taking off from an airport in Juba, South Sudan.

Fifteen of the deceased were passengers on board the flight, South Sudanese presidential press secretary Ateny Wek Ateny told CNN.

There were 18 in total on the plane, including six crew members. The three who survived were two South Sudanese passengers and a baby boy, Mr Ateny said.

South Sudan Red Cross has been involved in responding to the incident.

While it hasn't been confirmed, the cause of the crash might have been due to engine failure, CNN is reporting.
