Singapore's President Tony Tan is about to arrive for a five-day state visit.
He'll be officially welcomed at Government House in Wellington today, hosted by Governor-General Sir Jerry Mateparae.
President Tan will attend a wreath-laying ceremony at the Pukeahu National War Memorial tomorrow before visiting Christchurch and Hamilton.
Prime Minister John Key says next month marks 50 years of New Zealand's diplomatic relations with Singapore and he's pleased the occasion will be marked by a visit from the head of state.
President Tan has been president of Singapore since 2011.
