Sky Tower lights up for Paris

The Auckland Sky Tower has lit up in red, white and blue in solidarity with France following the terrorist attacks in Paris that killed more than 120 people.

The Sky Tower joins a collection of other prominent buildings across the world, including the Empire State building and One World Trade Centre spire in New York, the Sydney Opera House in Australia, Wembley Stadium in England and Rio de Janeiro's Christ the Redeemer statue, in illuminating the French national colours.

Auckland's War Memorial Museum has also lit up with French colours tonight.

People gathered in Auckland's Aotea Square tonight for a vigil in support.
