It's nearing the end of 2015, so the annual 'best', 'worst' and 'top' lists are coming out.

The YouTube top 10 of the year has been trending online today – a playlist of the most watched YouTube clips in New Zealand this year.

It includes popular songs like Silento's 'Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)', as well as Jimmy Kimmel's segment Mean Tweets, the music edition.

The number one was a bit of a surprise, however, with a clip from the children's show Peppa Pig taking the top spot.

With the year's clips collated neatly into playlists per country, the nice guys at YouTube put together their own video – based on some of the worldwide trends – with the help of some of their most popular stars.

The clip includes cameo appearances from names you may recognise like Miranda Sings, The Try Guys (from Buzzfeed), Smosh and some of the biggest names in talk shows like James Corden and John Oliver.

YouTube got the stars together for an interpretation, compiled with some of the most watched clips from around the world, like 100 years of, Crazy Plastic Ball Prank ,Love Has No Labels, as well as spoof of Shia LaBeouf's Just Do It motivational speech just to name a few – along with some smash hit songs like Major Lazer & DJ Snake's 'Lean On' (feat. MØ) and Justin Beiber's 'What Do You Mean?'.
