Sarah Palin's son arrested for assault

Sarah Palin's son, returned war veteran Track Palin, has been charged with assault after an incident on Monday night (local time) at the home where he lives with his parents.

Track Palin, oldest son of former Alaska Governer Ms Palin, was arrested in a domestic violence case in which his girlfriend was afraid he would shoot himself with an assault rifle, SBS reports.

SBS says court documents show the 26-year-old was charged with assault, interfering with the report of a domestic violence crime and possessing a weapon while intoxicated.

He appeared in court the next day but it is unsure what plea he entered.
