New Zealand is well in tune with the pain of being left off a world map. It happens from time to time when you sit isolated at the bottom of the world.

But poor Tasmania perhaps has it worse, getting left off official Australia Day apparel being sold at Woolworths outlets.

The navy coloured cap, which features an embroidered map of the country in the centre, were meant to be the perfect piece of attire for those upping the patriotism in time for the national holiday.

It doesn't seem as though that will be the case however, with dozens of people taking to social media to question the company on the doctored geography.

Since the mix-up, Woolworths has started withdrawing the products from shelves, meaning punters in the market for a patriotic hat will have to look elsewhere.

It isn't the first time Tasmania has been disregarded either. The southernmost state was forgotten off a range of Arnott's Australia Day biscuits in 2012, and was also forgotten on Baz Luhrmann's posters for the film Australia.
