In 2014 a campaign was started to get a then-104-year-old here to the White House.

Two years later, 106-year-old Virginia McLaurin was dancing for joy when she got to meet the first black president of the United States and his wife in their home in Washington D.C.

The South Carolina-native, who currently lives in Washingotn,  was honoured to meet Obama, and when he asked if she'd like to meet first lady Michelle Obama, Ms McLaurin started walking so quickly that Obama teased "Slow down now. Don't go too quick!"

Ms McLaurin was so happy she began to dance, and Michelle joined in and said "I wanna be like you when I grow up."

Ms McLaurin, who has lived through 18 different presidents, was at the White House to attend a Black History Month celebration.
