A Melbourne court has excused a woman from appearing at her hearing due to mental health concerns.
Sofina Nikat was examined by a psychiatric nurse and doctor this morning, and a magistrate later excused her from appearing in court.
The Melbourne woman has been charged with the murder of her 14-month-old girl.
Police say 22-year-old Nikat confessed to killing her daughter.
Sanaya Sahib's body was found in the Darebin Creek on Sunday -- less than 24 hours after Nikat told police her daughter had been snatched from her pram by a stranger.
CCTV footage shows the young mother walking with a pram in the park, around the time Sanaya disappeared.
