Californian oil refinery closed as crane collapses

A crane has injured three people and forced the closure of the ExxonMobile oil refinery plant in California after it tumbled to the ground.

The employees hurt in the incident only suffered minor injuries, but footage of the collapsed 300-tonne crane shows that it had damaged structures.

About 650 people work at the refinery, and 155,000 barrels of crude oil processed there every day.

It is not known how long the plant will be closed.
