The UK government has announced its new strategy to fight obesity, and celebrity chef Jamie Oliver isn't impressed.

The healthy eating campaigner has called it "disappointing and underwhelming", while others have labelled it "watered down" and that it has "let down a generation of children".

"This strategy was Britain's opportunity to lead the way and to implement real, meaningful environmental change, to start removing the crippling financial burden from our [health system] and reversing the tide of diet-related disease.

"With this disappointing and, frankly, underwhelming strategy, the health of our future generations remains at stake."

It comes the same day health experts wrote in the New Zealand Medical Journal that the Government here isn't doing enough to combat childhood obesity.
