A mako shark has been captured on film soaring metres into the air as it attempts to flee from a line cast by fishermen off the coast of San Diego.
The shark made four astonishing leaps as it sought to stop itself being hauled up from the Pacific Ocean, before snapping the line and making its escape.
Mark Martin, who was captaining the boat, said the shark would have been at least 225kg.
