Brexit will hit the poor hardest, warns Bank of England

The Governor of the Bank of England has warned that poor people will suffer the most from rising food prices and inflation following Brexit.

Mark Carney said the fall in the value of the pound would see things "get difficult" for consumers over the next two years.

"They're starting to go up. The principle reason will be movement in the currency. That will flow through to the High Street."

He made the comments as he visited Nottingham.
