An Australian police officer has been thrown off his motorbike after a high-speed chase.
The Queensland Police Service said the officer, Sergeant Rea, was attempting to pull over a speeding Ford Falcon, which then proceeded to try and reverse over him
It released footage of the dramatic incident on Facebook, as they began their search for the driver of the speeding vehicle.
“Police officers have families, they have children. They don’t come to work to be deliberately driven at and struck by motor vehicles,” Steve Riznyk from the Queensland Police said.
“The car was observed to swerve at him on the motorbike, and the officer was unable to take evasive action.”
The police officer in question suffered injuries to his hand and leg.
