Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump will appear on the Dr Oz television show to discuss his health, and he's promised to release more details as his rival Hillary Clinton comes under fire for her own health concerns.

A teaser says the interview with Mr Trump "addresses why the health of the candidates has become such a serious issue in this campaign" and "reveals his own personal health regimen".

Ms Clinton's campaign has been criticised for her secrecy and lack of transparency after only revealing she is being treated for pneumonia after she appeared to faint and slip at a 9/11 memorial event in New York.

Mr Trump has attacked Ms Clinton's age and stamina before, and so far she has only released a few pages of her medical records.

Hillary Clinton "lacks the mental and physical stamina" to serve as president, Mr Trump told supporters last month.

Mr Trump has only release a short letter on his health from his personal doctor, who said he "will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency".

He's now agreed to release his full medical records, as well as results of a medical examination with "very, very specific numbers".

Dr Oz's invitation for both candidates to appear on his show will keep the health issue alive - something Mr Trump will relish.

"I think it makes sense for both to have a conversation about it [their health], and I'm not trying to pry or probe, I'm just trying to hear what's going on in both their lives," Dr Oz said.
