An elderly man in Chile is being praised as a selfless hero for tripping over a teenage thief.
The teen was making his escape after an armed robbery at a jewellery store when the 84-year-old tried to stop him.
But when he stuck out his leg to try and trip the thief, the man also hit the ground and hit his head while the teen fled.
The man said when he saw the 15-year-old running, he decided he had to do something.
"If I had thought about it, I would not have done it. Nobody does anything. We're all so stupid that we let [instinct] get the better of us, what are we supposed to do?"
The elderly man was taken to hospital where doctors cleared him of any serious injury, and the thief was later arrested.
