Toddler wedged in washing machine rescued

A two-year-old girl has been rescued from a washing machine in China.

The toddler was found wedged tight into the drum and firefighters had to dismantle the machine to free her.

While the girl was visibly distressed while the machine was still together she was noticeably calmer when it was only the drum she was stuck in, resting on a pillow and toy in hand.

The rescue took around 20 minutes, after which she was released safe and sound into the arms of her relieved father.
