Baltimore police have released body camera footage showing police shooting a man on Friday morning (local time).
Police say the 48-year-old has a history of mental health issues, and of suicide attempts.
The video shows the man waving knives around on the street, and being engaged by officers.
"I've got one life to live, I'm going to give it," the man can be heard saying on the body camera recording.
When a Taser fails to bring the man down, he is shot multiple times.
Police then perform CPR on the man, while an officer urges him to "keep breathing, buddy".
The man is now in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
