US President-elect Donald Trump and golfing legend Tiger Woods have teed off at Trump's personal golf club in Palm Beach, Florida.

Trump, who is known to be an adept player with a handicap of just 2.8, is a long-time admirer of Woods and presented him with the WGC-Cadillac Championship in 2013.

However his 18-hole round today is likely to raise a few eyebrows, as Trump famously berated current President Barack Obama for playing too much golf just a year ago.

"He played more golf last year than Tiger Woods. We don't have time for this - we have to work," Trump said at a campaign rally in December 2015.

Trump followed that up by saying he loved the sport and thinks "it's one of the greats", but said he didn't have any time to play it himself.
