A Fox News presenter has embarked on a lengthy rant against calls for an investigation into potential election interference from Russia - labelling those involved as "pathetic losers".

Jeanine Pirro, a former judge and Republican politician, has drawn hefty criticism for saying people should not be looking into the claims, but rather deciding if they're "with the United States or against the United States".

The brunt of her anger was directed at President Obama and the CIA, who have led calls for an investigation into whether Russia tampered with the election process.

"We have a new President-elect - his name is Donald J Trump - so move over Barack [Obama]," she shouted.

"Move over Hillary [Clinton], Harry [Reid], Jill [Stein] and all you namby-pamby pathetic losers still crying in your grande double-shot skinny lattes."

A senior US intelligence official told Reuters last Friday that they had concluded with "high confidence" that Russia had interfered with the election to undermine Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

Politicians from both the Democrat and Republican Party are now calling for a full investigation into Russia's activities during election year.

Later in her monologue, Ms Pirro said any investigation would be an example of President Obama attempting "to prevent Donald Trump from the smooth transition of power".

She claimed it simply demonstrated Mr Obama's inability to accept the business mogul's "overwhelming" Electoral College victory.
