Barron Trump grabs political spotlight

The youngest member of the Trump family may only be 10, but he's already getting a taste of the spotlight which will follow him during his White House years.

Barron Trump has become the first young son of a President to live in the White House in more than 50 years, since John F Kennedy Jr in the 1960s.

During his several appearances at his dad's political events, Barron, nicknamed "mini Donald", has grabbed the attention of those online.

At Donald Trump's victory speech immediately after the election, he was seen nodding off and yawning - perhaps not unreasonable considering it was the early hours of the morning.

Meanwhile, at Mr Trump's inauguration at the weekend, he was seen snatching his hand away from his mother, First Lady Melania.

The 10-year-old, who attends a prestigious private school in New York, was the subject of jokes by some online, including Saturday Night Live writer and Modern Family star Julie Bowen.

But Chelsea Clinton, who has firsthand knowledge of growing up in the political spotlight, has come to Barron's defence, saying he "deserves the chance every child does - to be a kid".

And while the 45th President has begun his work in the Oval Office, the First Lady and Barron won't be moving to the White House straight away.

They'll stay at the family's ritzy penthouse in Trump Tower until mid-year so Barron can finish the American school year.
