Best signs from the Women's March on Washington DC

Women across the globe have marched for women's rights today in a series of protests. 

Celebrities and civilians alike gathered in major cities across the world, including New York, Sydney and London, to protest bring attention to issues affecting women, such as sexual violence, reproductive rights and the wage gap. 

An estimated crowd of 500,000 attended the flagship march in Washington DC, where Madonna, Alicia Keyes and Scarlett Johansson addressed the crowd. 

Protesters shared some of their favourite signs on social media. Here's some of the standout efforts Newshub came across.

Some signs called attention to US President Donald Trump's trademark look.

 

Many drew attention to Mr Trump's attitude towards reproductive rights.

Others took a lighter approach.

Carrie Fisher has became a symbol of the women's movement, with many protesters dedicating their signs to her Star Wars character, Princess Leia.
