Now she needs a flak jacket: TV star carpeted by colleague

The TV presenter who has become infamous on the web for 'Jacketgate' is "not well liked in the newsroom", according to her co-workers.

News presenter Amber Sherlock was at the centre of the leaked video earlier this month showing her having an off-air meltdown over colleague Julie Snook's white top.

The cause of the catfight was Ms Sherlock feeling aggrieved that all presenters on screen were wearing white, resulting in her ordering her colleague to put a jacket over the offending clothing.

"I need Julie to put a jacket on. I asked her before we came on … I told you two hours ago." Sherlock complains in the video.

The leaked footage became an international sensation, with even Jimmy Kimmel making jokes about it on his late night television chat show.

In a new article published in New Idea magazine, a news insider tells the magazine that the presenter feels threatened by younger staff, and has even made producers cry in the past.

'She wants the top job and sees everyone younger as competition. Everyone talks about how awful she is to work with,' the person claimed.

"She's not well liked in the newsroom."

Ms Sherlock has said "Live TV can be a pretty stressful beast, at times" after the incident was leaked.

"And as anyone knows, it's never much fun rocking up to work or to a party in the same outfit as one of your colleagues or friends.

"I probably overreacted with the pressure of presenting a live news bulletin."

Ms Sherlock has since returned to presenting the weather on Nine News.
