Snake makes meal of snake near Brisbane

It's a dog-eat-dog world out there, but if you're in Australia it's more like snake-eat-snake.

An eastern brown snake has been filmed eating a carpet python head-first in the Brisbane area by a company specialising in capturing the reptiles.

Norman and Sally Hill, of N&S Snake Catcher, were called to a home in Ipswich on Monday when they came across the unusual scene.

"We've never seen something like this before - it's very rare any snake catcher gets an opportunity to witness something like this," Ms Hill told AAP.

But instead of interrupting the snake's meal, the pair stayed for a few hours to let it continue eating before bagging it.

"If you disturb them too much they'll regurgitate their meal, and it's just a waste."

In a second video, the snake is seen dragging its prey into the bag with it.
