An Aussie dad has been publicly shamed and labelled "disgusting" for taking his seven-week-old baby into a parent's room at a local mall.

Queensland man Damien Leeson out with his wife and daughter Harper, when the baby needed to be changed and fed.

Mr Leeson told local news outlets that while he was in the parent's room with his daughter, a woman walked in, saw him in there and called him "disgusting".

"I got into the parents' room, gave her a change and started feeding her, when a mother walked in with her son," he recalled.

"She looked at me and said, 'That's disgusting to see a full-grown man in a parents' room with a little girl', and said that I'm a 'dirty old b*****d'."

Mr Leeson and his wife took to their private Facebook pages to express their hurt after the incident.

He said that while the woman left the room after her verbal abuse, she hadn't finished the public humiliation.

"As she walked out, she said to her friend, 'There's a dirty old man in the parents' room,' and the friend replied, 'Yeah, that's f***ed up,'"  Mr Leeson wrote on Facebook.

He told The Daily Mercury the incident had left him speechless, and couldn't believe another parent would publicly shame him for simply looking after his daughter.

"I'm quite a hands-on dad, dirty nappies, feeding, anything I can do," he said.

"My wife was there too and we just looked at each other in shock. I was doing the right thing."
