Texan family discovers rattlesnake lurking in loo

A family in Texas got the shock of their lives after discovering an adult rattlesnake in their toilet - and an infestation under the house.

A member of the household woke up to go to the bathroom, only to be horrified by the giant serpent lurking in the loo.

They rang an expert from Big Country Snake Removal who sped to the scene.

More shocks were to come. There were 13 rattlesnakes hiding in the cellar and five adults and five babies beneath the house.

The snake removal expert says the snake got into the bathroom through the relief pipe.

"Rattlesnakes are secretive and can be very cryptic - They rely heavily on their camouflage," the company warned on its Facebook page.

"This is simply how they survive. Just because you don't see them doesn't mean they aren't there."
