Cruise ship passengers film 9-metre waves hitting cabin window

Footage from a raging storm that injured four passengers aboard a cruise ship has emerged, showing 9-metre waves slamming against the side of the vessel.

The Royal Caribbean cruise ship line offered a full refund for those that went on the journey through the Atlantic Ocean, as an apology for dealing with the wild conditions in February last year.

Now a video that depicts just how high the waves rose up the sides of the ship during the hurricane-force tempest has shown that Royal Caribbean's gesture was probably justified.

In the footage, a man is seen looking out at the sea from his cabin window, which looks to be many metres above sea level - but when the boat is rocked, water rises high enough to completely submerge the cabin.

The storm damaged many interior features of the cruise ship, which couldn't withstand the constant tipping caused by the waves.
