French authorities say there are no fatalities in Tignes avalanche and that the rescue operation is over.
The French Alpine ski resort said in a statement: "Several skiers have been shaken up and taken care of by resort personnel.
"Emergency staff were deployed immediately. After the search operations, there are no victims to report."
The snow is said to have crossed the blue "Carline" ski slope and police issued an alert around 11am on Tuesday (local time).
A police spokesman quoted by local newspaper Le Dauphine said several people were buried as the snow came down a busy ski slope.
