Tinder app on phone
Invitations to join are rolling out this week (File)

If you think of yourself as the master of the swipe right, you might be getting the call-up this week to join the new Tinder Select.

The secret, members-only version of the app is sending out invitations this week to the chosen few elite Tinder members.

While Tinder hasn't confirmed the existence of the exclusive club, it appears to have been operating for at least the past six months, according to technology website Tech Crunch.

The VIP service is for those who are deemed especially "attractive", or have strong public or social media presence "including CEOs, super models, and other hyper-attractive/upwardly affluent types" TechCrunch reported.

If you're invited into the app, it appears you're sent a text with a link to launch your profile. You are then able to 'nominate' another Tinder user, to be brought up to the high ranks along with you. But those nominated are unable to bring anybody else with them, meaning the app stays as exclusive as the VIP section at a club.

Some rumours are that the invitation is based on your 'Elo Score', determined by an algorithmic rating system across all Tinder users based on 'thousands and thousands' of signals, similar to a rating system on Uber.

So if you get the call-up this weekend to join Tinder Select, take comfort in being one of the chosen few.
