A mother's anguish as she holds her collapsed son has been captured in a photograph.
The monkey, in India, clutches her baby who had tripped over on the ground and appeared unconscious.
But her youngster may have just been overdramatic - the Daily Telegraph reports he was back on his feet moments later.
The picture was taken by Avinash Lodhi, 31, who said the photo was "very close to my heart".
"Throughout my entire photography career I have never seen anything like this", he told the Daily Telegraph.
"It was so quick I didn't even know what was happening when I took the picture but as soon as I confirmed the image I was silent for an hour.
"This moment is rare, especially with animals."
