A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the bodies of a woman and two children were discovered in the former home of John Lennon.

Police had been called to a ground-floor flat in Falkner Street in Toxteth, Liverpool, and discovered the bodies, saying the killings appear to be linked to a domestic dispute.

Beatles star Lennon lived with his first wife Cynthia at the flat shortly after they were married, and it was owned by the Beatles manager Brian Epstein.

Lennon and Cynthia lived there in 1962. While living there it's believed Lennon wrote the song 'Do You Want to Know a Secret?' a sly reference to Epstein's homosexuality.  The song featured on the band's first album, Please Please Me, released in 1963.
