Fatal flooding in Chile drowns streets

Four people have been killed and thousands of others are without power after torrential rains lashed south central Chile on Saturday (local time).

Streets have been flooded in the town of Curanilahue, forcing residents to turn from their cars to their boats in order to get around.

Others say they've lost everything in the devastation.

"I got up and I fell and it was full of water up to my knees. I'm telling you, it was up to my waist the water got - all wet," resident Teresa Ojeda says.

"The bed, the shoes - everything lost. I wasn't able to save anything, nothing. A neighbour lent me [the clothes I'm wearing]."

Around 3000 people have had their power cut off due to the storms.
