A Kiwi has been seriously injured after a terrorist attack in London on Saturday night (local time).

Six people were killed, along with three suspected terrorists, in twin attacks at London Bridge and the nearby Borough Market.

Christchurch man Oliver Dowling was among those injured in the Borough Market stabbing, according to his family.

His sister, Freddy, says he's in an induced coma after being stabbed in the face, neck and stomach. The injuries missed his vital organs, she says.

"Oliver is now stable after a four-hour-long surgery. Doctors are very happy with how he's come out the other side," she wrote on Facebook.

"A massive thanks to the University of London Hospital for their tireless efforts in helping my brother out!!"

Mr Dowling's girlfriend, Marie Bondeville, was also injured in the attack, according to Ms Dowling.

An MFAT spokesperson earlier told Newshub no New Zealanders were caught up in the attack.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the two attacks, which have been labelled terrorist incidents by local police.
