Disgraced US congressman Anthony Weiner will spend nearly two years in prison for sexting an underage girl.
Weiner was sentenced to 21 months in federal prison by Judge Denise Cote in New York on Monday (local time).
"This is a serious crime that deserves serious punishment," Judge Cote said.
The scandal - which destroyed his career and marriage - came to light in the closing days of the 2016 US election.
The 53-year-old sobbed as the judge handed down the sentence.
In addition to jail time he was sentenced to three years of supervised release, along with a $10,000 fine and ordered to participate in sex offender rehabilitation.
