CNN host kills interview after cringing 'boobs' comments

A CNN interview with Fox Sports Radio host Clay Travis descended into on-air cringe - which ended in his mic getting cut.

On Friday (local time) Mr Travis was invited onto the show with anchor Brooke Baldwin to discuss the White House's call for ESPN to fire their anchor, Jemele Hill.

Mr Travis said he doesn't agree with trying to separate reporters' sports opinions from their political opinions.

"I think that's a bad move," Mr Travis said. "I'm a First Amendment absolutist. I believe in only two things completely, the First Amendment and boobs."

Ms Baldwin was shocked.

"Hold on," she interrupted him, "I just want to make sure I heard you correctly as a woman anchoring this show. Did you just say, what did you say? You believe in the First Amendment and b-double-o-b-s?"

"Boobs," Mr Travis said, agreeing. "Two things that have only never let me down in this entire country's history, the First Amendment and boobs, so those are the only two things I believe in absolutely in the country."

Ms Baldwin then questioned him in disbelief. And Mr Travis continued.

"I said boobs. I believe completely in the First Amendment and in boobs. Those are the only two things that I believe 100 percent in in this country."

Ms Baldwin was unable to continue the interview.

"I'm done. I'm sorry. I'm done," she said. "I'm done. This is done. This is conversation over. Yanking mics, uh, bye, see ya."
