An Australian man has died in a fiery crash in Melbourne last night after a car slammed into his Mercedes at over 200km/h.
The suspected victim was a married 49-year-old father-of-one.
The crash was described by police to 7 News as "catastrophic in every sense of the word."
Both cars were on Waverley Road, East Melbourne, on Saturday around 2am when a Mazda hit the victim's Mercedes from behind at high speed.

The Mazda struck another two cars outside a dealership before coming to a stop.
The driver of the Mazda, a man in his 30s, was cut from his vehicle and is in a serious condition in The Alfred Hospital.
