Australia has officially legalised same-sex marriage.
The country's House of Representatives passed the historic bill with no substantive amendments on Thursday evening (local time).
The bill's passing follows November’s postal survey, in which the majority of Australians voted 'yes' to marriage equality.
A month's notice of intent must be given, meaning same-sex-couples will be able to wed as early as January 2018.
