Elephant attacks tourist coach in China

Video has emerged of the moment an elephant attacked a tour bus in the middle of a road in southwest China's Yunnan Province.

The coach had broken down at about 6pm on a road near Xishuangbanna Wild Elephant Valley, a protected habitat in Yunnan province - but the driver was still on board.

It's not clear what got the creature so riled up, but the rangers were able to report the complaints were absolutely justified.

The attack lasted more than two hours, and the animal is seen headbutting the bus several times and rubbing up against it, before finally wandering off.

The vehicles - a bus and a truck - were both damaged, but no one was injured during the incident.

Authorities said that they will continue to monitor the elephant activity in the region following the incident.
