New person of interest in death of Hollywood actress Natalie Wood

  • 02/02/2018

The death of actress Natalie Wood is one of Hollywood's greatest unsolved mysteries.

Now, 37 years later, investigators have unveiled new evidence and a person of interest, CBS's Erin Moriarty reported.

In 1981, Ms Wood was sailing with husband Robert Wagner, actor Christopher Walken and captain Dennis Davern, when she mysteriously disappeared.

Her death was quickly ruled an accidental drowning.

Thirty years later, in 2011, the Los Angeles County Sheriff department reopened the case.

After reviewing the autopsy report and photos of bruises, the medical examiner changed the manner of death from accidental to undetermined.

It is thought Mr Wagner and Ms Wood had a fight.

Two new witnesses have come forward, claiming they not only heard voices that they recognised as Mr Wagner and Ms Wood, one says she saw it.

Mr Wagner has long said her death was an accident.

He was not a suspect in 2011 and still isn't, but now could be a person of interest, being the last person who was with Ms Wood, before she disappeared.
