Frozen character helps to free Boston Police vehicle from snow

A man dressed as a Disney Queen has made himself an unlikely hero in the eyes of the Boston Police.

When a snowstorm swept the American city on Tuesday, 37-year-old attorney Jason Triplett decided to give his friends a laugh by dressing as the iconic Queen Elsa, the Boston Globe reported.

Elsa is a central character from Disney's 2013 hit musical Frozen.

Despite being with friends in a cosy restaurant, Mr Triplett took it upon himself to single-handedly help free a Police truck trapped in heavy snowfall outside.

A video uploaded to Facebook shows him braving the snow and ice all while flaunting his Elsa attire in its full glory.

A restaurant spokesperson told the Globe that the man was greeted with applause and a standing ovation when returned.

The Boston Police were especially grateful for the efforts of the Elsa impersonator, the Globe said.

"The officers involved were especially grateful for the help and would like to thank the Elsa-impersonator for the assist," said Boston police Officer James Kenneally.
