A Canadian couple could face criminal charges after they restrained a man they allege came to their house to have sex with their underage daughter.

The Vancouver Island couple livestreamed a video on Facebook of the 28-year-old man lying face down on the floor with his hands tied behind his back, CTV Vancouver News reports.

The girl's mother can be heard berating the man saying, "He came to my house to meet my 13-year-old f**king daughter, to f**k her. He wanted to be her first."

"We f**king tackled him and zap strapped him and called the police.

"Why wouldn't the police come and help me catch the predator that just came to my f**king house," the mother continued in the video.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) arrived at the home on Thursday and took the man to hospital. He is yet to be charged.

The girl's mother claims she asked police to investigate the man six weeks ago when she discovered explicit messages sent by the man to her daughter's Instagram account.

She claims police told her to block the man and forget about the incident.

Frustrated by the response, she set up a meeting with police asking them to be present during an ambush on the man but that they would not help her.

The couple admitted to restraining and questioning the man.

RCMP have said a child luring investigation has been open since March but no charges have been laid against the man.

The mother and step father could be charged with assault causing bodily harm and forcible confinement over the incident.

Both adults believe their actions were justified, the mother saying "If I get charged. I still feel I did the right thing".
