A warning, this video contains upsetting images of distressed children.

There are reports the West has bombed a Syrian military base in retaliation to a suspected chemical attack on a rebel held suburb of the capital, Damascus.

Syrian state media reports several people have been killed in a missile strike near Homs.

The bombing comes after disturbing pictures emerged of the suspected gas attack.

Many victims were children who were rushed to hospital while volunteers helped by washing people down with water, ITV's Robert Moore reports.

America has denied responsibility, and suspicion has now fallen on Israel, with US President Donald Trump hinting a punishment strike in response to the attack.

He tweeted "President Putin, Russia and Iran are responsible for backing Animal Assad. Big Price to Pay".

Sources close to the President say he must not back down, which only raises more questions over what the US and Russia will do next.
