Canada explosion leaves more than a dozen injured

Three people have reportedly been hospitalised and 12 injured following an explosion in Ontario, Canada.

The explosion happened at an Indian restaurant called Bombay Bhel in Mississauga, a large Canadian city neighbouring Toronto on Lake Ontario. 

Two suspects detonated an improvised explosive device and then fled the restaurant, Peel Regional Police reported on Twitter. 

The police have asked for the public's assistance in identifying the parties that fled the explosion - two males depicted below. 

Peel Regional Police said they received a call about the incident at 10:32pm on Thursday (local time).

" We responded to an explosion in the area of Hurontaio and Eglinton in Mississauga. So far we have the plaza's sealed off and we're investigating," Constable Iryna Yashnyk of the Peel Regional Police told Associated Press

Paramedics said 15 people were had sustained  "[injuries] consistent with an explosion ".

Three people have been rushed to a trauma centre with critical injuries, while a further 12 suffered minor or superficial wounds.

The area is being sealed off by police while a paramedic said there is a lot of broken glass at the scene.

Mississauga is a popular shopping centre known for having several huge malls.
