One person is being treated in Whanganui Hospital following a firearms incident this evening.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Whanganui River Rd around 8:50pm tonight after what St Johns have called a "firearms incident".
Both St Johns and police attended the scene and the person is being treated for a leg injury.
Police remain at the scene and say it was an "accidental shooting".
