Christmas won't be coming early for more than a dozen people who were arrested at Auckland's Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park on Saturday night.

Thirteen people were arrested at the event, including four juveniles, all for disorder and alcohol charges.

It's more than three times as many people who were arrested last year, with offences ranging from behavioural issues to breach of bail conditions.

On top of the 13 arrested, police took 10 youths home on Saturday and called parents over disorderly behaviour.

A police spokesman says the police presence at the event, which is in its 23rd year, was highly visible.

There were also an extra 70 police staff put on trains throughout the network.
