5yo Leon Jayet-Cole's murder-accused found dead

The Christchurch man accused of murdering his five-year-old autistic stepson, Leon Jayet-Cole, has been found dead.

James Roberts was on bail awaiting trial when his body was found on Monday morning at a property in Christchurch. 

Police say the matter has been referred to the coroner.

On May 27, Leon had had arrived home from school at his usual time before an ambulance was called to his home around 1:30pm.

Leon later died in hospital on May 29, after suffering a serious head injury.
