An elderly man has died after falling from a cliff edge in east Auckland this evening.
An evening walker contacted police after finding the 70-year-old's body on Mellon's Bay.
Police are currently attending to the incident.
The man fell around 6:30pm while undertaking gardening work, police say.
His next-of-kin has been contacted and Victim Support has been arranged.
The death will be referred to the coroner.
