A 22-year-old man will appear in the Tauranga District Court on Wednesday, charged with the murder of a baby in Tauranga.
Three-month-old Richard Uddin died in Tauranga Hospital on June 7, after he was brought in by his mother. Police then launched a homicide investigation.
The man also faces seven additional charges of assault on a child.
The Ministry of Social Development and police have said they are working with the family to ensure the safety of their other children.
