Police have released the name of a 24-year-old American woman who was killed in a car accident in Napier yesterday morning.
Theodora Anderson was living in New Zealand on a work visa. She was injured when a vehicle crossed the centre line and collided with her vehicle head on around 8:20am.
Ms Anderson died yesterday evening as a result of her injuries. Her passenger suffered minor injuries and police say she's expected to be released from hospital this afternoon.
Police have thanked members of the public who stopped and helped those injured in the crash, and closed the road to traffic when they realised the seriousness of the situation.
They're also looking for witnesses and those who were first on the scene.
